Virginie Darbo

Holcim

Head of Finance for the Europe Region

Virginie Darbo is a seasoned finance professional currently serving as the Head of Finance for the Europe Region at Holcim. With a career spanning 26 years across six countries, including Algeria, Russia, and China, Virginie has a wealth of experience in finance and leadership roles. She oversees financial operations, manages turnovers, and leads teams across various regions.

Before her current role, she was the CFO for Holcim Russia and served as the Project Controller for a large construction project in Russia. She also worked as the Internal Control Director for China & APAC, where she established and strengthened the internal controls function.

Before joining Holcim, Virginie was an Audit Manager at Deloitte France and a Consultant at A.S. Consulting. She took a sabbatical year in Mexico during her career. Virginie earned a Master’s degree in Finance from Montpellier Business School from 1993 to 1996.

A citizen of the world with a French passport and heritage, Virginie is a proud mother to two children, born in Beijing during her expat assignment in China. Currently based in Switzerland at Holcim Headquarters, she reports to the Group Executive Committee.

Virginie is committed to leaving a legacy of impactful leadership and is dedicated to shattering the glass ceiling and helping women find their passion and voice. Additionally, Virginie is passionate about sustainability, striving to build greener cities and witnessing Holcim’s efforts in decarbonizing the building materials industry.

Virginie was a Finalist in the Finance category in the WeQual Awards, Europe, Middle East, and Africa, 2023. She is also a lifetime member of WeQual Executives.
