Chief Sustainability Officer and Global Head of Corporate Responsibility

Márcia is founding Chief Sustainability Officer and Global Head of Corporate Responsibility at RELX Group, a global provider of information-based analytics, decision tools and events with 36,500+ people and operations in 40 countries.

Driving practice that ensures recognition for RELX as a sustainability leader, the company is currently 2nd in Sustainalytics’ ranking of the media sector among 297 global sector peers and holds a AAA ESG rating for an eighth consecutive year with MSCI.

She is a board member of the Foundation for the (UN) Global Compact and a founding board member of the Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens. She is also founding director of London museum and educational facility, Benjamin Franklin House.

A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, she holds an MA in International Relations from the University of Chicago, and a PHD in Economic History from the London School of Economics. She is a Member of the British Empire (MBE), an honour presented to her by the King, and lives in London with her husband and two sons.

Márcia was a Finalist in the Transformation & Strategy category of the WeQual Awards, Europe, Middle East and Africa, 2020. She is also a WeQual Executives member.
